You know in the commercials. You see on some cars that have the push button to start the car and cut it off. I can see the idea as pretty simple..but how reliable is it against theft if ya got VATS disabled? Maybe you can hide the button in a secure, obstructed place.

I just find this whole "pushbutton" starting thing funny. Up into the 50's cars routinely had a pushbutton on the floor to the left of the clutch pedal up by the firewall for cranking after the key was turned on. Now what is it Nissan has come out with it (I heard the new Corvette too?) and everyone thinks it's the greatest thing!

I thought the same thing. My boss has 2 Model A's (a 1931 Sedan and a 1929 Stakebed Truck) and both have the push button on the floor next to the gas pedal. They're connected directly to the starter on those. I am also currently working on a 1956 Jaguar Mark IV that has the pushbutton start on the dash.

The S2000 was the one that really started it all for the recent run of "Push Button" starting.

i Have a push button starter on my camaro. I did not install it the person I bought the car from put it in. But I have had no problems with it and I kinda like it it's different from everyone else.

I put a pushbutton started in for a cash-strapped friend in a jetta... wasnt too hard... horn button, a relay, and a multimeter. The thing had a bad ignition switch.... leave it to the imports to make the swithch an entire very expensive assembly which requires replacing half the steering column.
