3.1 big ends gone, help........

Hi all, i actually sold my firebird to my friend and he has blown it up (in 45 seconds) got to be a record, the 45 seconds was not just after he bought it he has had it for a month and a week and a bit.
he was doing some pretend drifting in a big carpark and he was thrashing it in first gear but he didnt check the oil , the result bas a knocking bottom end,
question is what sort of damage should i expect to see and how easy is it to change the big ends/ mains with the engine in the car, its a 5 speed manual 3.1 92 firebird with 63000 on the clock and an impeckable service history. cheers in advance.
Nick

if the bottom end went on the engine, more than likely (not for sure) theres damage all through it.... cam, crank, cylinder walls, etc. youre better off pulling the engine and replacing it than trying to keep the block in there and replacing everything else. especially since you have to lift the engine up a ways to even pull the oil pan off. if its shot, pull it and get a 3.4L out of a 4th gen.
