Serpentine Belt
Hello, hope someone can help me with this one. I have a 1989 camaro with the 2.8 V6, the ac compressor is going out making all kinds of noise, it doesnt work anyhow so iam looking to remove all of it. Does anyone know what belt to use with the ac removed, and how to run the belt on the pulleys? Thanks in advance Chad

there was a post about this before, i believe since yours has a/c, you have to get the delete pulley or the belt will rub against itself in another spot. do a search it should still be available from GM.

belts and compressors
When the car is bulit w/o A/C the assessories are mounted
totally different.
Normally the A/C compressor should free-wheel if it's not
engaged. The parasitic drag and HP drain is very small. But
still if you want everything, the delete pulley is the way.
Are you saying the compressors clutch is engaging?

Sound like the delete pulley is the way to go just wasnt sure if anyone did it without one. Its not engaging but rattles and makes all kinds of noise. Its getting a 305TPI transplant next summer and didnt want to put anymore money into the 2.8 but, thanks for the input, Chad
OK this isnt all that hard people..... the belt you need is available from any parts store and there is a second hole in the powerstearing pump that will move the pump so the belts wont rub in the center will post a pic of that hole abit later today......
