How does YOUR engine sound?

What I mean is, I can tell mine sounds kinda "coarse" as I'm takinf off or while driving. Maybe its just me TRYING to find something wrong with the car when there may not be. Am I paranoid or does anyone else's car sound kinda rough or raspy?

Ken

I like how mine sounds, its kinda like a V8 with a mild cam but not as fleshed out, not as much deep rumble.

rough and raspy

Ken,

Mine did (90 3.1) before I solved it's problems, now it doesn't.

Sounds like a small exhaust leak or a rich miss-filring cyl.

I bought a newer motor from a yard that I knew the owners step-brother (whoa). The guy had been hot rodding the car, and had a front end collition. Judging by the sound and the way the motor likes to act, Im guessing a cam.
