question about smog

question about smog

I have a 3.1 v6 camaro. need to smog it again. san diego cali. need to know if not having the heater hose's on the car, and having the fan wired on all the time, (getting it fixed). not make it pass?

Technically, having the fan wired hard wired to run all the time is a failure. Since the ECM controlls the fans to keep the temp right around 220* for smog reasons, it's a failure in electronic controls, BUT most techs won't even bother to fail it for something like that.

Heater hoses have absolutly nothing to do with smog, so it's fine if they're not there, as long as there's no coolant leak, you should be good.

ok thank you, that helps me out. would you know happen to know how to test for what is wrong with the fan and how to fix it? thanks for the reply
