Missing a cylinder

Well havn't been on here in forever, so long i even forget my old username and had to make a new one. About 2 years ago i bought a different car than my 92 RS so that i could put it in the garage and give it a new paint job and do some work on it in the garage. Im not great with cars but i figured it could be a great learning process for me. Well anyway i bought this other car and the last day i was driving the thing, i made a quick run to the store before i was going to go pick up the new car i rear ended someone and smashed her all up. Well needless to say i put her in the garage and have not touched her in 18 months. Start her up ocasionally but last time i did the battery was completely dead. So x-mas break is here and i have a rejuvenated feeling of fixing the car up. I got the front end of it off and will serach for another one soon (need some money) but my real question is right before i put the thing away it was running weird. It felt like it was only running on 5 cylinders and was shakeing. I had recently changed all the spark plugs dist cap rotor and all the wires. So now that i can do whatever i want to the engine cause i have another car. What should i look for for a reason why it is not firing all 5 cylinders. I dont currently have a battery for it but i can run out and get one to try things out. But anyway thanks for any info.

make sure all the wires are properly attached to the cap and the spark plug. if they arent new wires (used from another vehicle) make sure theyre good wires. make sure all your injectors are firing, you may have one that or isnt giving as much fuel as it should. thats all i can think of right now, its kinda late

The wires were all brand new and i took them off last night and they were on there pretty good, bad thing is i cant really test it till i get a new battery and with going to school i dont want to get a new battery then stop the project and then my battery die again before i ever get the thing running right or i get a new front end for it. BTW anyone know what im looking at for a new hood and new plastic for the front bumper as well as the fixture that runs across the front end that holds the headlights? Probably should just call a junk yard on that i guess, just dont really have any money and feel like a dumba$$ calling and them having it and saying oh well i cant afford it anyway after they take the time to look up the part for me.

hey i opened up the cap today and it looked like all the pins were caroded (SP?) on all the pins where the pin from the rotor comes acorss them. Could this be the reason? Should i just brush that off and put it back on and try again?

Just get a new cap and rotor. Its a complete waist of time to clean them.
