Fan Sensor Location on 3.4

Today while working on replacing the clutch on my baby I noticed a temperature sensor on front of the head on the passenger side. So I took it out and placed the temp sensor on the rear of the 2.8 in that location. Worked out fine and no need to remove the plug on the rear drivers side head. Has anyone ever tried this before? I ran the car for a while and the temp was climbing so I think I'll be alright. I have 2 pics to show the location of the sensor. The 1st pic is of the sensor I removed and the 2nd is of the sensor from the 2.8 in the same location.

That sensor is the emergency fan switch. It manually turns the fan on at 240 if the main temp sensor goes out. Since the heads are the same part number, there is a mounting spot on the passenger aft and driver forward part of the head. I left mine where it is. Does it make the routing a little better?

i drilled and tapped another 3/8" pipe thread hole in my intake manifold for the fan switch so i didnt have to play with the "PLUG FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL". worked out awesome.

Well it really wasn't much of a routing issue since the cable for the fan switch feeds from the drivers side anyway. So actually it just makes it more convienant with the sensor up front. Just in case if you have to replace it or something like that.
The second pic is of the fan sensor after I installed it up front. Its now located right behind the power steering pump. I keep the 3.4 timing cover and all since I got the complete engine all I swapped over was the intake setup. I would guess that was the temp sensor on the 3.4 but since I used the 2.8 intake I used the temp sensor in the intake manifold. Its working out just fine.
