waterpump /timing cover question
Ok, this is a weird question but I already did a search and found no real results.
Does anybody like those torx bolts found on some of the 2.8 waterpumps and timing covers? I assume most people don't. I personally prefer the regular bolts found on the 3.1s and the 3.4s and older 2.8s.
So here are my questions.
1. Can I just use the regular waterpump/timing cover bolts from a 3.1 or 3.4 instead of the torx bolts from the 2.8 to bolt down the timing cover and waterpump? (swapping in a 3.4)
2. If so, what about the torque specs? Would it be the same as the torx bolts or would it be diferent?
3. Also, anyone recommend a certain brand of sealer to use on the bolts to make sure there are no coolant leaks and what not?
Thank you!

I would think the install would be the same as the torx heads just make sure the hex bolts heads leave enough room for a socket
