2.8 wont start?!

I have recently purchased this car it is a 88 camaro with a 2.8L/ 5-spd, when I bought the car the guy said it needed a battery(reason it wasnt running)so I thought! I have got it home and put in a battery, changed plugs, wires, coil, air filter, and I still cant get it to run. It will turn over and try to run and sometimes it will run, if I pat the gas over and over, but it still doesnt run like it should, like it is out of time or something. I have checked the timing and and everything is in time. Just wondering if any of you have had this problem?

yes.. getting plenty of spark.....and its blue. like I said, it will crank but it will not stay running, and when it cranks, it runs like it is out of time or something. when I push the pedal it dies, but if I pat the pedal it will barely stay running.

It could be anything from injectors to o2 sensor to MAP sensor to ECM ....
The problem is trying to DAGNOSE the problem. Have you checked the ECM for codes? (Click on FAQ's and scroll to the bottom and find where it talks about a paper clip).

No thanks. The money spent buying yours could fix mine. Besides my car looks better.

My car is up and running again. My TB gasket was sitting on top of the lower bolt. The bolt missed the hole. I can't believe that that was the whole problem.
