need help with 2.8 cam install
First off im new to this board. So hello everyone. i just got my first car. its a 1987 2.8l camaro. and i did a search for this but i couldn't find what i was looking for. i am in the porcess of installing a new cam and timming chain into my car. It is a 2.8 Multi Port Fi. what i need help with is when i pull out the old camshaft, can i just put the new camshaft in the exact way and be done with it, like line up the three holes and little pin in same direction. i dont know how to degree a cam and dont want to pay some on to do it so would it be possible to just straight up swap them. thank you.

Before you pull the old cam out, line up the timing marks on the two gears to help checking of timeing when you install the new cam.

Yes use cam or engine break in lube. I use Engine BReak In Lube on my cams, with no issues.
