Somone out of the blue came along and made an offer on the car i couldnt refuse.i feel really sad that its going,but im happy knowing ill have a decent amount of money to set to the side for my lil girl.


at this time i wont be buying another car not a f-body anyways,but u can bet that i will have another 3rdgen in the future to drop the alcohol motor into,as i didnt sell any of that with the car


until then i will still be active in the 60* community

 

So I take it this means no turbo stuff?

lol that motor isnt going anywere, i actually tried to fire it yesterday,but the stock starter is having problems kicking over the 12.7-1 cr motor fast enough

these cars you can get for cheap... hell i got a 2.8 for $500. all i had to do was rebuild the carb... which i just got another from ebay for $40 (new!!!) and installed it, good to go. it goes over 110 mph in a stock 83' 2.8 :P and that's up a hill!

now, the body is a little beat up, but it came with a new front clip/bumper and that's all that's wrong besides a little busted up hood at the nose, but it is a $500 car, and it's black/primered hehe. but looks descent. interior is low quality, but it's still a cheap car, i know you guys can find great deals and customize them to your liking =)

kid comes back to pick up the car and says well i only have x amount (1,000) less then agreed on, so i told him he couldnt have it for that much.

so the car got brought right over to the shop for an engine transplant,its not going anywere now.

im happy,but im kind of upset to, i could have really used that money for my lil girl and gf

 

haha almost same exact story thing happend to me last summer. guy offerd to buy my car, and i was hessitiant but for the price i couldnt say no. then he showed up the next day with only half, thought if he flashed some money at me i would jump all over it.$3000 later i still have it, glad i didnt sell it either.

yeah the way the kid talked i figured for sure he had it,he prolly does but figured he could offer me less once he had the cash in hand and id take it.he didnt relize how attached to the car i am though.

You are better off with a Mutual Fund for college. Those pre-paid college programs have a low return and your child will have to go to a state college of you will get penalized. I have four kids and I enrolled them in Primerica's college fund (Mutual) and they are gaining over 12% and can go to any college. If they decide not to go to college, we get all the money including interest. Those pre-paid programs only give back what you invested and keep the interest, just an FYI.

$70 a month will yield about $100k after 20yrs.

 

I wish my dad had known about something like that and done that for me. This out of state tuition is a killer.
