Timming problem ? Error code 33

I have a 1992 RS 3.1. The car acts as thought is has a timming problem. I checked the error code, code 33 came up . I replaced the MAP sensor but to no avail. The car starts fine bet when you accelerate it hesitates and misses. I changed the fuel filter, checked for vacume leak, had the fuel injectors cleaned and Emptyed the gass tank to make sure there was not some baf fuel. Amy suggestons

Re: Timming problem ? Error code 33

Just to let ya know. The knock sensor retards timing and creates a really bad hesitaion. Its located right above the starter mine had a broken pig tail and was off. When i started up and ran cold it ran fine then after a while it got a huge hesitation and stalled out at lights and idled ruffly around 600-500 rpms.

If broken the pig tail was $15
And the knock sensor is $35 non returnable

I had all ready change out the knock sensor and replaced the connector. It was causing my check engine light to come on. Thanks for responding

I have changed out the plugs and wires so I guess the next step is the distributer cap. Thanks
