posi-traction question

posi-traction question

i am looking to install a positraction to my 1992 v6 RS CAMARO.my car is equiped with the rear drum axle.i know that i must purchase a 8.5 10 bolt posi..but can anyone tell me...how many splines????

If the rear is stock in the '92, then it has 28 slines axles. Also, it will be a 7 5/8" 10-bolt, not the 8.5".

yes is the factory axle with drum brakes.did the axles slines vary via what engine is the car equiped with?my car has the factory 3.1 v6.

No difference in the splines for an 8 versus a 6 cylinder engine. The only difference between all of the drum brake rears for '92 is the gear ratio and open vs posi.

check ebay for an SLP take off, its a zexel torsen limited slip diff. theyre great for the price. i picked mine up for $120 with 2 miles on it.

actually its an auburn, but still, good pick up, you may need different axle shafts though, check the splines on it.

the seller told me that it is a plug n' play for my car and i can keep my gear ratios!so...what can i say?

since yours is a 92, yours may be a 28 spline axle, i dont remember what year they were swapped. may wanna double check on that so you dont get it ripped apart and then find out you need other axles. but i do believe that yours is a 28 spline.

hey guys...can you tell me what lubricant to use in this auburn posi diferential???my car with its factory differential has dexron oil.now with the auburn what can i use so i do not damage it!?
