Rattling from PS pump

I got a rattling from the area of my PS pump. I checked all of the nuts, bolts, and lines around it and nothing is touching or rattling if the car is on or off. I also checked to see if the pulley itself was loose and it isn't. While the motor is running the pump looks like is shaking but all of the bolts/nuts are tight. The car runs fine and my steering is always smooth. What could the problem be?

You might want to check the bracket that bolts to the exhaust manifold that connects to the ps pump. Mine also rattled and I too checked the bolts that hold the ps pump to the bracket. There is supposed to be a nut that connects to a stud coming off the manifold that was missing from mine. I think its a M8 nut that goes on there. It solved my rattle problem quick. I was gonna replace the ps pump thinking it was going out.

You mean a bearing for the pulley? I've gone to the pick n' pull like every weekend now for something different.

Get the whole pump. It's a PITA to get out, look for a 18mm (IIRC) nut that's low on the right (the stud is actually kind of facing down). When I had to pull the PS pump bracket to do the water pump, I left this lower bracket off completely with no problems.

Re: Rattling from PS pump

Now that I got my AC fixed my car vibrates really bad. I checked all of the nuts, bolts, brackets, and the pulley doesn't wiggle or move at all. It's nice and solid. The AC compressor it also in good shape and is solid on all of the brackets. I think that the PS pump has something to do with it. Any ideas?
