PLEASE HELP!!! code 43?

My 1991 3.1 lt Firebird has been acting up for 2 months now and I dont know what to do.
After the car is warmed up after driving around for a wile the problem starts. When you come to a stop or the rpms are low the cars engine idle changes slightly, the service engine light comes on, and then it is really slugish as if the timing was off. You try to go and its real hesitant and SLOW. I check the code and it was a 43. I went to auto zone and they told me the idle controle senser, so I replaced it. Car runs a little smoother but problem hasnt gone away. I was also told the KNOCK senser or Ecs controle box (I think).

Anybody got an idea?

By the way. It doesnt happen all the time. just when the car is all warmed up. And its only at a stop. Never happens at speeds over 30.

code 43: faulty knock sensor, faulty ESC controller, or faulty ECM.

I don't know where exactly ESC controller is located,
but I heard it's somewhere under the dash..

either one of 3 has gone bad, I hope it's not ur ECM though

Re: PLEASE HELP!!! code 43?

I wouldn't worry much about the ECM.

In the books, it says "Faulty ECM" after pretty much every problem explanation, because if it's telling you that you've got a problem and you don't, then the thing telling you about it must be wrong, right?

But I'm 99% sure it's not a common thing to loose your ECM.
