Help I can barely go up hills!

I have an 87 Camaro with the 2.8. I installed Pacesetter headers, threw away the cat., connected a Thrush glasspack directly to the end of the headers, gutted the bottom of the dual airbox & installed K&N filters. It sounds awesome. Runs great on flat roads but the slightest incline even on a highway while doing 70 she slows down drastically no matter how much I'm on the pedal. Too much flow? Not enough backpressure? This is what my friend told me. Another friend said it could be fixed by bumping up the fuel press. a few P.S.I.. Someone else told me a longer pipe with a "normal" muffler will solve it. I would like to try bumping up the fuel pressure a tad, how would I go about doing that? Thank you for taking the time to read my problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

yeah putting back on a reg full ex would help,ur losing a lil bit of tq without it.
but even still it shouldnt slow down that much going up a hill.
did u mess with the timming at all or change anything else? is the transmission downshifting like it should?

I'm thinking that you have lost alot of torque. From what I understand you are just running headers with a glasspack on the end of both? You should put a full exhaust back onto the car.

you have the y-pipe though right? casue i did the same and put on the pacesetters with a dynomax bullet(just temp till i get it running good) but it still runs strong, when i didnt have the ypipe on, it was gut-less and backfired like crazy.
