hey guys, I want to elimineate my heater core (never use it anyway...) and was wondering what you guys who did this, did. I was thinking of just looping the hose from the waterpump to the metal pipe that goes to the intake manifold, but it looks a bit weird, and most importantly, the hose and pipe are different sizes. I was thinking of just plugging both the pump and pipe, but would like to keep as much colant flow as possible.

Anyway, do you guys have any suggestions on what to do? Is there some kind of mini radiator or something that I can use to help with additional cooling or something? Thanks in advance!

 

one member a few years ago removed both metal pipes, welded the holes shut, sanded them smooth and panted them black. it looked real professional when he was done.

 

Keep the heater core, no reason to remove it entirely. Ditch the routing that runs along side of the engine, and run the hoses above the valve cover, plumbing one into the water pump, and the other into the intake manifold. If you have different fitting sizes, you can get an equal pair to match your heater core hoses at any AutoZone, Pepboys, Strauss, Loews and Home Depot. One of the first things I did, while still retaining my heat for the winter (lucky for you, you need not worry about that though)....
