Changing sparkplugs 2.8 V6 5 spd with A/C
Ok, So I went to crappy tire and bought 6 spark plugs (NGK V-power) because they were on sale, and I was there anyway. I went and took a look at my engine later that day to see that I can only reach 4 plugs, and the other 2 would be an excersise in futility.. What suggestions do you guys have for getting them out? I've done sparkplug changes on the 460 Ford V8 we rebuilt, and that was hard enough, but this looks worse. Thanks, KP.

The 2 plugs next to the A/C unit on the pass side, they are #'s 5 and 6. I got 5 out, but I dropped the plug socket, the universal joint, and 2 extentions into the crevice between the exhaust manifold, and the block.. So I am done for a little while so I can go cool off and end up not throwing something.. ANy ideas on fishing out the stuff I dropped?

very strong magnet. might have to pull exhaust manifold if its in that place where i think its at. never was worryed about droping a socket down there, i did drop an extention onto the tranny, never got it out. i think r cars have a curse or something, they just suck tools
. I think the acc. set up on a 2.8L is the same as a 3.1L, the thing that sucked about plugs was the evil 2# plug thats block by the alt.

Got it out! Changed 5 and 6, and was ready to rock. My #6 plug was really wet, but it might be nothing.. I dunno, I was gonna change the motor eventually, anyways..
