Swapping Intake's.

Okay, so I got my long block all ready and am pulling the old motor. Question: Can I pull off the UIM, and then just take the entire intake off the motor to swap onto the longblock? I'm trying to save myself the hassle of pulling the fuel rail, and jacking the o-rings and what not.

Thanks.

Re: Swapping Intake's.

you CAN do that, but id rather replace all the gaskets and injector o-rings and all that, since youre putting a new engine anyway, why not have new stuff anyway, so you dont have to take stuff off later to replace it cause it crapped out on you. and if you leave the LIM and manifold together, then you either have to pull the fuel lines off somewhere or fight with the lines still attached while you roll the manifold upside down to clean it up for reinstallation.

id say pull it apart and replace it all.

I would just take it all off. You can pull the fuel rail with the lines still attached. The LIM and MIM are easy to pull off of each other.
