IAC Adjustment ???

I want to adjust the IAC after reading this forum. Question is when it says to jumper A&B, can I use the ODBI code reader tool? I would say yes. I hate to use paper clips...

You can use the ODDI reader fine, if you don't want to use a paper clip then a piece of wire works fine too.

But in answer to your question...yes, you should be able to use that.

The IAC automaticly adjusts itself every time you get above 40mph anyway. The only thing you use that for is setting the minimum air rate if someone's screwed with it.

What I've read here is most people have a high idle surging problem. I have a low idle surging problem. This is the first time I read that the IAC self adjusts itself. I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. I already cleaned it & the passage way.

Re: IAC Adjustment ???

Ever sine I started getting codes while driving I just keep a 5 inch long piece of wire in my arm rest compartment. Both ends are stripped and I have a piece of tape on it that has "A and B" written on it so I remember which ones (even though I never forget ). Advanced said their reader wouldn't read my codes. They tried it, nothing showed up. But I had one when I pulled into the parking lot...

Re: IAC Adjustment ???

I always have a piece of wire too. Some of the guys who work at the parts stores are idiots. They must have had a OBDII reader. The first time I went there to pull comdes they had to dig around to find the OBDI reader.
