adjustable fuel pressure regulator - worth it on a v6?
I've read a few threads, but haven't come across anyone talking about putting an AFPR on a V6. Is this a worthy mod?
The only real thing on my engine not stock is my intake that I had some fun with. It still runs strong. The car has 183,000 miles but the engine was rebuilt and probably has around 15,000 (Didn't own it when it was rebuilt)
Anyway. Is it worth it to put on an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? I realize I would also need to go ahead and install a fuel pressure gauge at the same time. (I'd rather just install an in-dash one - my air/fuel gauge is getting lonely)
Would adjusting the stock fuel really make much difference? And could you access the screw to adjust it without taking off the plenum again once the regulator is in?

Re: adjustable fuel pressure regulator - worth it on a v6?
I noticed a little difference in efficiency after bumping my pressure up a bit on the 3.1 in my old 90 firebird. I used an adjustable one that I got used for a TPI car and took the guts out (it worked fine) for adjusting. I didn't notice any driveable difference beyond 49 psi.
Like everything else, it's the total package that makes the difference. If you have it you will be ready for other mods at least!
