89 v6 charging plroblem
my car shut off because the battery was dead i tryed to push start it but it wouldnt work.i hadv the alternator check at pepboys and auto zone and it passed so i thouhgt it was the battery so i bought a new one and that wasent the problem either all the visibal wiring seems fine.any tips, suggestions will be very helpfull thanks

Check the wiring that the alternator goes into. lkarge wire with and eyelet. Mine was corroded and loose.
Get a multimeter and check and see if the alternator is putting out voltage. Large wire on back of alternator and see if it putting out over 12 volts something like 13.5
Check the ground wire from the battery to the ground for corrosion and if it tight on the engine block.
That about all I can think of.
Also look at the wiring and see if there is any corrosion inside.

check all grounds and check all the wires going to the alternator as stated earlier

check the fuses and there is also a fusible link down at the starter connector..it supplies 12 volts to the alt. to energize it?.I eliminated the wire to the starter and just ran it to the post at the back of the alt.Dont like the idea of crawling on the ground to check it, if I am out somewhere..stomach is too big and car is too low..
