Gauge Issues?

I Have had 4 3rd Gen Camaros (2 1990 and 2 1991), Which have all never had working RPM gauges, And a recent flaw with my 91 is that my speedometer flips out while driving, and my gas gauge constantly stays on 1/4 of a tank. Is this an electrical issue? My father says that the gas gauge problem is most likely due to a corroded/decrepit wire in the tank that goes to the pump itself. (if this helps any, my rear right tail light and turn signal are non-functional, and my interior gauge right turn light constantly stays on when my headlights are on)

Re: Gauge Issues?

You have a bad ground somewhere in the headlight system. On my bird, there is a ground on the engine bay side of the passenger's side headlight assembly that causes the weird lighting problem if it's loose. Also, check your grounds under the dash, near the steering column, and then check your fuel sending unit under the car, and the VSS at the back of the transmission, near the driveshaft, for bad connections. Remove your passenger's side taillight housing and check your bulbs, sockets, and wires for damage. There may also be a couple of ground wires running to the body behind the rear interior panel (that runs across the back of the car, covering the hatch motor assembly), check these as well.
