car not working right
i bouhgt this 2.8l camaro its a 88 and my first car i am 16 and i just got my liscence but am having a hard time getting the car to run right i put new plugs and wires set the valves the egr isnt hooked up what it is doing is it seems to have tons of power in first but for some reason when you shift into second if i give it any gas including putting the pedal all the way to the floor it just like bogs out im not sure what s wrong all help would be greatly apprecieated o ps i also did a compression check and it is the same on all the cylinders it has a larger exhaust dont know if this makes a difference and the o2 sensor my not be hooked up correctly the guy i bought it from was a bit of a goof he did a lot of thihngs wrong

Do a search for tom or tomp tune up guide will give you list of things to check and change. I know about pevious owners on my 92 firebird 3.1 the guy cut the o2 wire and the car only got like 10 MPG once I hooked it up and fixed other issues milage went up to 23.5
Hook up the EGR and o2 sensor.
Get a chiltons hanes or a factory sevice manual. Factory manuals go for specific years and it worth the money
Check you distributor cap and rotor, ignition module coil etc etc etc.
Get a fuel pressure tester and see what kind of pressure your getting. Could be on its way out. My 3.1gets like 39-42 PSI. I believe the 2.8 is less. They only cost like 30.00 at auto zone shucks etc. should have stedy presure from idle to wide open throttle.
