parts identification
i cant remember what its called. been awhile since i been under the hood of a firebird let alone any car. it has to do with the idle and i think its why my car stalls. there is a cable that goes from it to the throttle body and its located on the drives side in front of the wheel well. looks like it has some vacuum lines to it. some time of vacuum actuator im thinking. think it might be bad. it doesnt pull in at all just sits there. and the cable isnt hooked up. for a temporary fix ive adjust the idle screw out a touch. idles just above 1k now. i dont hear any hissing so i dont think its a vacuum leak. as the engine doesnt surge or sputter.

Re: parts identification
Other than the TV and Accelerator cables, the only other cable that goes to the throttle is the CruiseControl. You didnt say what year, but the CC had a 5 to 7 pin harness and a vaccum tube that goes to the firewall. That shouldnt casue a problem with idle. Idle Air Control motor will cause issues. What year, motor size and induction do you have?

Re: parts identification
I believe you're talking about cruise control, which wouldn't have any effect on the idle.
