86 fbird muffler
I just got my 86 bird running again the stock exhuast isnt that bad but i would reli like to get some more sound outta my 2.8. I was thinking about just picking up a magnaflow muffler unbolting the current muffler and slapping the flow in there. Would this http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku fit the stock pipeing i have on there now?
Then I will get the dynomax catback and the headers later on. It dont look like a tough job just gotta get the rusty bolts off that old exhaust and put new ones on.

Stock pipe size is 2 1/4". I would suggest either Dynomax or Thrush (same thing as Dynomax basically). Half the price and sounds pretty good. I can post a sound clip of a Thrush cambered muffler if you'd like.

If you're on such a budget that you can't do your cat-back now, there is another option.
I regularly scour all of the local wrecking yards when I am in your position. If you look hard enough, you will find a V8 Camaro or Firebird with an aftermarket system that is good enough to re-use.
After you buy that used system, you also pay the exhaust shop to re-configure the flange where the pipes hook to the cat so that it fits your car.
It's cheap and you can go a long time on it while you save money for the good stuff.
Good luck!!
