Re: port/polishing intake and plenum
i didnt get the entire intake ported, as you have read (i hope). as far as flow numbers go, i did notice a good difference........... thats all i can honestly tell you. i think ive finally hit a point where the car is too modded for the stock ECM anymore. ive done enough that i am actually starting to hurt performance, until i get it tuned. also, anyone who really knows flow benches will tell you, that just because numbers go up, does NOT mean that your power will. that said, i still think that my improvements i made will make a difference for the better, due to the terrible design. i just dont know how much of a difference it will make.
one thing ive looked into, but havent had done yet is (after my work had been done) extrude honing the intake. now that ive made my mods, extrude honing will basically bore out the entire intake, instead of just some spots here and there. i guess they use an abrasive putty and push it through the intake over and over to bore it out. im still considering it someday. although i have recently come into connections w/ other methods of modifying my car.........
time will tell
