Just bought an 84 firebird v6 2.8 carbed. Its been sitting for about ten years. I'm having some carb issues, but besides that can someone tell me some basic maintenance I should do to get it to run a little better. It runs but pretty weak. I have a little bit of cash to spend. Is there any thing I should be looking for besides getting the basic tune-up being that it sat for so long? I plan on keeping this motor in the car so I'm in it for the LONG HAUL

Is the gas in it 10 years old? Do a full seafoam treatment, full tuneup, and clean the carb out real good.

I set my timing at 12 degrees instead of stock 10 degrees. It seems to be just fine.
