not all 4 bangers can beat a old bird. i keep having this on going arguement with this kid at work. he claims his vw golf bottome line edition with a 1.8 can beat a 2.8 firebird. well i looked up in this wonderful site called dragtimes.com. in there they have a stock 3.1 92 firebird that runs a 17.1 i suspect the older 1985 2.8 would run about mid to high 18's. then for the vw golf they have a 2001 gls with a 2.0 that runs 18.1. also suspecting that since his car is a 1.8 and the lowest model you can get he would probably be running in the neighborhood of 19 or 20. the 2.0 golf also had a exhaust system and kn air filter. yeah i printed this info out and gonna show him tomorrow.

 

good, that should shut him up. i hate how everyone thinks they can take a car just because its older.

 

yeah but this kids a real case work. im gonna go buy a cheapo 200 dollar 2.8 firebird and race him. maybe then he'll finally shut his yapper then again he may try to accuse me of cheating. he'll say something like i bought a cheaper car cause it was rusted out and the lack of metal made the car lighter there for faster and thats how i beat him

 

My stock 3.1 ran consistant 17.1's at 74mph with 89k miles. GM claims 17.5 for the auto.
