HF DOHC swap
Anyone ever think of putting a 2.8L DOHC/3.6L from a CTS/STS in a V6 Firebird/Camaro?
Lots of fabricating I guess but it sure be neat to go a new route

That would be awsome. I love the DOHC config and would take it any day over our crappy pushrod engines. Is this something you're doing or are you just curious about it? B/C if it turns out for you I'd be so into it.

Re: HF DOHC swap
just curious right now--there are a few things I want to finish on my Formula first. Also wondering if anyone else was going to do this or even thought about it.
I rented a CTS a few years ago and it had the 2.8L DOHC--rated at 210hp. While that motor is a litle small for a heavy CTS--a Firebird weighing 400lbs less would be alot better. Plus the engine sounded great.
Of course the 3.6L (maybe with the 2.8L engine cover) and DI 3.6L would really move.
I'd use the 5speed auto or 6 speed auto to go along with it too. Have a really modern drivetrain in an older car has always been interesting to me.

Re: HF DOHC swap
I'd like to get my hands on a saab turbo engine. they have a 2.8L DOHC thats 280 HP @5500RPM and 295TQ @ 2200RPM
That or i think it would be neat to have the turbo 2.0L I4 from the sky and solstice. drop it in a fiero though.
