What is this by-passing?

Here are some pics off the drivers side of the motor (MPFi 2.8L). The bypass was done with a screw and a clamp between a hose and a pipe.

What is this bypassing? Is it bad ?? The car runs and drives great I haven't noticed anything bad.

That is to the smog pump. Won't hurt anything. That is mostly for emissions. Just sends fresh air into the exhaust.

Re: What is this by-passing?

There is actually no reason to block it off unless you are removing the air injection system completly. Is the air pump still there?

If the air pump has been removed and you do not actually have any pully there, then you MAY have picked up 1/16th of 1 pony.

There is no reason to remove it unless you have installed the pacesetter headers that don't support the air injection system.
