Good exhasut gaskets that won't blow out

I am tired of replcing my exhaust gaksets every couple of months. I have headers and have tried the Felpro gaskets, the one for Fieros, and the gakets from NAPA. The felpro ones last about a couple of months, same with the fiero gaskets. I just put the gaksets from napa in and they blew out bad when I started the car up. Bolts are always checked and tightened down every few days when I first put them in then about once a week. I just put some from Felpro in and there is already a few leaks. I just want some gaskets that won't blow out every month with just regular driving. Its pissing me off pretty bad, its just so frustrating to replace the same part over and over.

Check out these gaskets...FelPro MS93692
I got these for my build. They are for the Gen 2 heads, but can fit if you work the bolt holes. They have 2 layers of metal sandwiching another gasket layer, plus larger ports.

The good ones on top. Doubtful that they will blow out.

Re: Good exhasut gaskets that won't blow out

I just put Felpro ones in again. The car is alot quieter now. What are the odds of 5 out of 6 ports blowing out in less than a day? Tee gaskets were burned to a crisp. I'll pick some of those up one day. Thanks.

Re: Good exhasut gaskets that won't blow out

coat both sides well with 100% clear silicone and let it sit over night before driving.

Just put in a new trans and did dual exhaust on my Buick.
They don't have exhaust donuts, its a steel to steel flange.

Its what I use to make them leak tight, works very well.
They were sealed up that way before when I just had a single also so I have long testing, its works well.

I'll say it again...

Why doesn't anybody listen to me when it comes to header gaskets?!?!?! Use gaskets from a 1971 VW Beetle, they are a perfect fit, reusable and are the same style as the 3x00 gaskets.

Them are the ones dean suggested. I never got ahold of any.

Also, if you keep having the same problem. Make sure the surfaces are clean and even. The stock paper ones blew out quicker then crap. But I put the metal felpro on. No problems other then the occasional loose bolt.

I would like to know what in the world the person was doing when they realized it was a direct fit.

I guess it's kind of like wondering what the first man to drink a cow's milk was thinking...

I would like to try some copper gaskets, the problem is that I think nobody makes them for our cars.

I think they may be. I got some LTs that I am putting in with the new motor so I won't bother taking them out and checking them out.
