Response to 160 mph 2.8l Thread

Although the kid you were talking to sounds like a total Toolbag,
and was probably lying....

I mean.. he had his laptop hooked up to the computer... but
didnt know what size engine he had? come on...

ANYWAY

I have 1988 2.8 in Great running condition...
Must have 2.25 gears or somthing like that..
stock 700R4 blew, so I put the Silver Dart w 2200 RPM police caprice Stall converter
in: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/700R4...spagenameZWDVW

What speed limiter are you talking of?
My car doesnt seem to have one...

I hit 100 and am just getting to 3000 RPM, and going strong.

Speedo only goes to 110 on my car, but I took it up past that, and kept going,
I never felt any indication of a speed limiter.

If my car had the horsepower... turbo, or huge shot of NOS

I know it could close in on 200 mph (technically it could go faster with the gearing)

Im saying stock I could hit 140/150 on a flat straight away,
with a few thousand RPM left

An iroc z might be great, but it stops at 120 :-D
