Re: MAN AM I GONNA HAVE A TREAT FOR YOU GUYS

tommmorow were going back im having an 11 and 14 psi wastegate springs sent to me for tom,first pass will be at 6 psi on the slicks to dbl check the tune,second pass will be a half track run on 11 psi, and if all goes well 3rd run will be a full pass on 11 psi.

have also decided on the final turbo to run im skipping right over the t70 and going right to a gt42. just need to figure out how to get the upper radiator hose connected with that beast of a turbo on there

Let us test this theory of yours. Here we have my friend Paulie running the same EXACT sixty foot in both of his runs (the first and the last), and yet, running an entirely DIFFERENT ET, w/approximately one MPH increase, Click here. Sixty foot was the same, but it didn't underline anything, only the fact that there are way too many variables. Had the trap been slower w/the quicker ET, then I could see the argument, but it wasn't. It increased with the quicker ET. I guess we'll just have to assume that the vehicle's curved rate of speed increase was somehow enhanced by the Gods....

First run;

60-Foot: 1.43
ET: 10:48
Trap: 125.55

Second run;

60-Foot: 1.43
ET: 10:41
Trap: 126.99
It is not a contradiction. I was mearly trying to explain the relationships between ET and trap speed, how quicker E.T.s usually result in lower MPH, given a quicker 60' as compared. As I said before there's a lot of variables to this.

I was actually just discussing this very thing with a friend of mine and Billy Glidden and his Mustang came up, where when he cuts a good 60' 1.00, 1.01 or so, his trap speed will usually be less by about 4 or 5 MPH, at the end of the quarter, but not always, and rarely would the trap speed ever increase. I witnessed this very thing on quite a few cars last summer at the CSCN, Billy being one very example, on the runs where his E.T. was quicker compared to other runs his MPH would go down. His trap speeds over the entire event were usually slower than other cars in his same class, even though he was running quicker E.T.s than just about everyone else.

You just simply can't base what the trap speed will be on a 60' time. About the only thing you can do is get an average MPH over that 60' distance, but does NOT relate to anything after that.

The 60' measurment is simply used to compare how well the car gains or loses traction at the point where the car transitions from standing still to moving. There's also a loose ralation to overall E.T. but only works if the rate of acceleration is consistant through the remaining 1260', if that rate of accel changes, then 60' times can no longer be related to over all E.T. and definatly not to MPH.

In your ONE example, the car dropped in E.T., which shows that the rate of accel beyond the 60' was different between the two runs, which further proves my point about the 60' E.T. having no relation to trap speeds, and also shows another point that I brought up in this post, about 60' E.T.s having little to no effect on overall 1/4 mile E.T. Thank you. I appreciate it when other people prove my points.

Dave, while you are spending all this time and money on the car - would you PLEASE take a few moments and send the parts I have been waiting for since last Aug?

Rob, I'm the only one who is planning a twin turbo build here and can't help that I feel that stament was directed at me?

John, those statements were in no way directed toward you. If they were directed to someone specific, I would have said so. There are quite a few people here building twin turbo setups, not necessarily V6, but I was referring to Twin Turbo builds in general. I've been on this site for awhile, and there were many members tooting their builds, with never any video to back anything up....

Six Shooter, my mind is still yet to be changed. I'm not about theory, I go by FACTUAL proof, not opinionated conjecture. I provided a video to back up my claim, whereas you continue to put forth only an opinion. You stated before that a car that is "spinning" will reach a higher speed, then CATAPULT the car forward once it hooks. Are you serious? WAY TOO MANY VARIABLES to make this an undeniable fact (power to weight, amount of boost, and amount of TORQUE, for starters). In Dave's case, as well as the car he raced, once the car hooks from spinning, the dramatic increase in load will immediately DECREASE in mph, not retain the same mph it achieved spinning and spinning, in a non moveable state....

^ What nonsensical incoherent words carefully disguised as some coherent point. Your points are so far from proven it's pathetic, as for one, the driver ran a quicker ET with the SAME sixty foot. Your point would have only been proven if his sixty foot was FASTER during the quicker ET! MY POINT was proven, the point that there are TOO MANY VARIABLES. BTW, who here is arguing that a better 60-foot won't provide for a quicker ET? I've been preaching that a better sixty foot would provide for a better ET before you even joined this website. Are you preparing any factual proof for the readers, in reference to the subject at hand, TRAP SPEED, or is this pretty much it on your part? Are you that bent on changing the subject, and constantly revert back to ET, with each and every post of yours....?

Re: MAN AM I GONNA HAVE A TREAT FOR YOU GUYS

they wont let me in the back when they dyno the car,so i said **** it, i found a place to dyno the car for 95$'s an hour and they have the right stuff to make 1/4 mile pulls on the dyno so i can actually do a full pull from a dead stop and see what the curve in each gear looks like so i can play around with the gear ratio a lil bitthough i do belive i have it dead on with the 26 inch tire and rear gear would put me at 7350 rpms at the line when i get the car setup with the spray and big turbo for a 10.90's pass dosent leave much room to grow but without the comp liscence im limited to 135 mph anyway, quick cals show top speed at redline to be approx 143mph so it gives me just enough room to go a lil fastre then 10.90 once the car is completly setup, though it dont take into account tire growth

When are you planning on hitting the dyno, and are you headed over to e-town this Wednesday night, regardless? Will be able to run this Wednesday night with you, providing the weather is good, of course....

The key here though is momentum. Sure, the front end will lift, but hopefully the 11-psi spring will be enough for it to follow through. Have no idea what my Formula runs in the 1/4 naturally aspirated yet, so your Camaro will do me the honor of it's first 1/4 mile race....

Re: MAN AM I GONNA HAVE A TREAT FOR YOU GUYS

11 psi should be enough with the 6psi spring it just pops the right front 11 psi si this turbos max car wont have anymore to it after the spring swap till i goto the larger turbo,which i might add is huge, wieghs in at a hefty 42 pounds and is being mounted over the battery tray. so i need a few more things befor i can install it, 18 ft of o gauge cable, remote battery disconect and a battery box. and then i have to figure out how to make the ps side headlight assembly removeable and reinstallable with ease.so i can pop it in and out at the track

What about that idea that you had last year, using the set of headlights from the other vehicle, don't remember what they were off of though. As for the larger turbo your upgrading to, the T76 that I told you about just made it's way to New Jersey, but now I'm contemplating the T88 again....
