So I wanna pull the motor and change the manifolds.. A few q's.

Hey guys, my manifolds are leaking badly and throwing off my O2, the weekend after this one I would like to pull the motor, and re-do the manifolds, rear main, clutch, intake gaskets, oil pan gasket, and freeze plugs. I just want to know, is it very difficult to pull the motor out of one of these cars? Will it take 2 weeks, or a few hours? Thanks, KP.

P.S I have done a bunch of engine pulls in my past, a 400 lb Ford BB/Transmission. So it wouldn't be the first..

it doesn't take long... the hard part is the wiring you have to take off... and the exhaust bolts. the exhaust bolts like to break! but basically to pull a motor is like this:

2 engine mounting bolts
6 trans bolts
4 exhaust bolts

you're done... and TONS of wiring/cables

that's true too.. plus pulling the tranny allows me to clean out the oil out of the bellhousing..

i would pull the tranny too. that way you get the chance to change the fluid in it and putting it all back in should be a snap.
