I got a fuel leak...
I have a fuel leak at the fuel rail...it is (if you are looking from the front of the car...) the single metal ling on the driver side of the fuel rail... i belive it is the cold start injector...the o ring that goes on the line itself was chewed up, so i bought a universal o ring kit, and the size i needed wasnt in there apparently, because it still leaked from the line, where the line goes through the nut...i tried all sorts of sizes, but still a leak...and i dont think it would be the same as a fuel injector o ring since the I.D. of thoese are too bigit lookslike...If anyone can tell me the inside diameter and outside diameter of that o ring, or if i could some how eliminate the coldstart injector, i think that is what it is...
Thanks for the help

Re: I got a fuel leak...
I had to go to the dealership to get the replacement o-ring. Those universal kits are worthless. If you have a carquest down there you might get lucky but i doubt it.

Something else that you may want to think about. I changed out my fuel rail for one from a 3.1. Its the exact same fuel rail minus the cold start injector since mine started to leak a little.

Re: I got a fuel leak...
well i broke it anyway just now...i got a litlle frutrated and tightenged the bolt too tight because the new rign i got didnt work either so i tried another one and as i was tightening it the nut cracked, and now i cant get the bolt off of the nut...
I ordered one off of ebay from a 90 Camaro...
Thanks for the help guys, i apreciate it, i would have just gone out and bought a replacement one thinking my car would not function without the cold start injector...

Re: I got a fuel leak...
this may be dumb to ask...
i just got the 3.1L fuel rail...
put it on... i left the line to the cold start injetcor on...now it starts and dies...my dad said it may be a vacuum leak, it does the same thing when i dont have the brake booster line out, it just shakes and dies...
should i have put a rubber cap or something to seal the cold start injector line?
thanks

Mine isn't sealed at all and my car runs fine. You may have left something off in the swap.

Re: I got a fuel leak...
would VATS be a problem? i unplugged the cold start injetor, i have evrything wired up right... all the vacuum lines are sealed and working...i just do not have a clue what the hell could eb the problem...it just starts and instantly bogs down and dies...so it feels like a vacuum leak...but i checked all the lines...so would it be VATS? i need to know ASAP i need my car to get me around...thanks.

Re: I got a fuel leak...
could it have something to do with the size of the injectors...the ones from the 3.1 seemed shorter than the original ones on my car? could that be it?

Re: I got a fuel leak...
You got 3.1 injectors as well? I run 3.1 injectors on my 2.8 the car runs fine. No problems at all. Did you replace the injector o-rings with the injector swap. Bad o-rings can cause a bad vacuum leak.

Re: I got a fuel leak...
they looked fine but i guess i will try that and see...and i know they work because if i start it and give it gas and bring it up to like 3000rpm, it stays on, then as soon as i let off it INSTANTLY dies...i thought i would just be doing that until it warmed up but, i let it warm up and it still died...
