Dead spot in my Topend
Okay. 92 Camaro RS 3.1 I'm guessing I have the dynomax muffler with no cat. Really clean TB, 700r4 with about 5k on it. Shifts nice and hard.
My tach is about double off. I Idle at around 1.8-2 grand so I cannot give any good rpm numbers. All stock.
I'm guessing that from 4-5k it is completely powerless. The motor picks up one last spurt from about 5.5-7k.
What could be causing this fluctuation? My motor runs and idles perfect. Only current problem is a broken "weak" tranny mount.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Dead spot in my Topend
a trans mount is 10-15$ max... takes 10 mins to replace. just get a jack and jack up the front end of your car via the crossmember, get another jack and lightly give it enough pressure to take the weight off of the trans mount bar... take the 4 bolts out of the trans bar, one out of the trans mount if its in there, some come with a bolt, some do not. replace mount, mount everything back and go floor it down the highway

Re: Dead spot in my Topend
It is a dead spot before my rev limiter.
I think it all has to do with restrictive stock parts, intake, heads, and exhaust being the main culprits.
Like I said, the motor is open and flying from about idle-4k rpm. Then it seems to close up till about 5-5.5k rpm, then it opens back up with one really good last spurt of energy.
I'm just trying to take the "kink" out of my power curve.

yea the stock stuff is restrictive. intake/headers help tons.
oh btw if u can very easliy hit the stock speed limiter before the rev limiter..
