Sensor Issue

My 88 Sport coupe w/ V6 2.8 has a service engine light on. I got the fault codes; Mass Air Flow and Map sensor failure. I changed the MASS Air flow, but I can not find the map, I talked to service tech he states this model doesnt have MAP. I drove it yesterday, the Sevice light shut off, after that I had no power ( Pushing the gas no change in RPM). So pretty much the car runs if the service lights on and doesnt when it shuts off. Plus the fuel pump shut down for about 30min yesterday while idling. Any help would be great!!

Re: Sensor Issue

hmmm because the light went out then the engine stopped working id say there is a problem with your electrics somewhere - shorting the ecu ???. your car does not have a map, just the maf. i would say your fuel pump shut down because your oil pressure was too low - or read reading low, it will only run if the oil pressures good.

Re: Sensor Issue

Yeah Im thinking either a short or my ECM is shot. The car hasent been on the road since 94. I ordered the ECM, guess these craps out alot in V6 models. I wasent watching the oil pressure, the pump may have quit for that reason, thanks
