car trouble

car trouble

ok well been having some trouble with the bird latly shes been buking while driving even more in 4th with tcc locked and more so if going up hills(florida hills) not real hills and then today on top of that the motor started 'fluttering" no power poor exelaration so i stoped and parked got out and poped the hood and nuthing was loos there was a little but of smoke coming from behind the distributer cap got back in the car and all of the problems went away any ideas on what it could be?

Have you checked fuel pressure yet?..any codes stored?.Could be EGR sticking..probably need more info.. it could be a number of things.So your going to get a lot of could be this or could be that.

no codes and i relly have no way of checking fuel pressure
and would the egr cause the bucking?

if the Egr is sticking in the open position it can create a vacuum leak which can create a lean mixture/poor performance.It also could be a transmission lock-up solenoid thats not unlocking.Seen it happen on front wheel drive cars which have the same symptoms you stated(bucking).Its possible you have more then one problem too?check your trans fluid and make sure its full and color isnt dark or smells burnt.

i just did a fluid and filter swap 4 mounths ago and i also changed the tcc then also and ill take a look at the egr going to work ill let ya know how she runs

ok well took her to wrok and after 2 or three miles all the problemes started so i pulled over and shut the car off and started her and all the problems went away for another 25 or so miles (till i got to work) then came home and for the 28 or so miles she ran great
