quick radiator question....

OK, I did a search but didn't really find anything so here goes.

On a 2.8 radiator car, I just installed a TDS wonder bar, and it's great but it smushes my lower radiator hose. I noticed that the temp kinda rises from this.... I found that people just leave it like that but I want to fix it.

I hear the 3.1 lower radiator hose connects to the other side and won't interfere with the wonder bar.

So:

1. Does the lower radiator hose on 3.1 cars connect to the passenger side and not interefere w/ the wonder bar?

2. Aside from hoses, do I need anything else specific to the 3.1 to drop in the radiatopr into my 2.8?

Thanks in advance!

Mine had a metal guard under that I just bent up a little to get it in there.

And here is a pic of my new radiator...

Re: quick radiator question....

I had the same problem. I believe that there is a strap or something that helps to hold the lower hose in place correct? I just either cut that off or shifted the hose. No problems now.

Re: quick radiator question....

Just curious, where did you get your radiator? My is leaking. Beleive it or not, the 4cyl, & 8 cyl. use the same radiator. The 305/350 radiator is on the shelf around here for $100. The 2.8 rad is $150. From my searching, V6 and V8 radiators do not interchange. Is this true? I would love to have the extra cooling from a bigger radiator.
