At least my distributor was under warranty.

After the threads in the dizzy base were stripped, Advance looked it up and saw it was under warranty and considered it a defect. The guy asked me if I put the cap on right. I knew where this was going. I said, " guy, I've had this car for 14 years, how many tune-ups have you think I've done?" He stopped giving me that 'it's you fault look'. Anywho, I got the dizzy on and it ran a little better but the car is acting up .At 45 mph, even on cruise, the car wants to buck as if the TCC was going on and off. Anyone have this problem? It seems to shift ok when I take off and at 55, but its getting annoying. Any suggesstions?

I'd have your ignition module tested if I were you. When mine went, that's what happened to my baby...

Re: At least my distributor was under warranty.

Believe it or not... my ICM went out yesterday. I was coming out of a mall and the car went dead. I coasted to a spot that was out of the way and it was like driving a tank. The car turned over and that was it. No starting. I called my wife to come and get me and take me to the parts store. I had gotten the dizzy cap off and the ICM off before she got there. At least this ICM was held down by the same philips head screws the dizzy cap had. I told the place of my dilema and said it was under warranty and they gave me a free ICM because I did'nt want to rip the dizzy out. I got back to the car and installed the ICM thinking that is whay my car is acting up. The car started, but it still ran as if it was skipping a bit. A scary feeling when you lose power.

Dang email notifications are down again, mods. Just a heads-up.

Ken, have you tried checking your fuel injectors? A skip isn't just ignition related, you know. If I were you, I would not only check the resistance of my plug wires, but the fuel injectors as well. The FI's should read about 12 ohms a piece, and the wires NO MORE than 10K ohms per foot. Try spraying the wires with some water from a spray bottle and running the engine in the dark. You might find a lightning show going on under your hood. Also, just because parts are new doesn't mean they are good, fyi.

Re: At least my distributor was under warranty.

I got an extra fuel rail with injectors on it. I measured them and the ohm(ed) out at 12.x, but I'm hesitant about putting them on because they are stock injectors. Even though they might ohm out good, mechanically they might be bad. I'm going to soak the rail in carb cleaner to try and clean it. I don't know if I can soak the injectors in anything to clean them or not and try to keep the electrical part out of the solution. I'm also going to get the fuel pressure regulator rebuild kit to make sure that is good. Hate to go through all that trouble just to find out its something else. But its a process of elimination.

Re: At least my distributor was under warranty.

What injectors are you running now? If they are the Accel ones, you're better off with the stockers. Nearly everyone on here has trouble with Accel parts. I have a junk $40 ign coil sitting in my garage...
You might be able to get away with soaking the injectors, just keep the plugs out of the solution.
BTW, where is this FPR rebuild kit? Can you give me a part number?

Right now, I'm running stock injectors and the ones I want to soak are stock as well. If you go to partsamerica.com. , the part number for the fuel pressure regulator diaphram kit is 21720.

Re: At least my distributor was under warranty.

Let me know how those injectors come out. I had to switch back to my old ones because my replacement set wasn't right, and they didn't like to hold the fuel pressure worth beans. My engine runs like crap ATM because 2 injectors are partially clogged...

Can I soak the fuel rail in carb cleaner without harming the seal below the fuel block? I'd hate to take it off uneccessarily. I also got a used dizzy that I want to rebuild.

Don't know about that. What you CAN do is to remove the fuel block from the rail (T20 torx screws if you can get them out) and not deal with the seals. Otherwise, you can probly remove the old o-rings and take them to NAPA or someplace that has some and replace them if they are damaged. However, if you soak the injectors up that high, you will probly end up getting carb cleaner in the electrical connections and messing things up, seeing as how the rail is actually higher than the plugs.

Where Is God

A couple had two little boys ages 8 and 10 who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that if any mischief occurred in their town their sons were probably involved. They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8-year-old first in the morningwith the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon. The clergyman a huge man with a booming voice sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly "Where is God?". They boy's mouth dropped open but he made no response sitting there with his mouth hanging open wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone "Where is God?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed "WHERE IS GOD?" The boy screamed and bolted from the room ran directly home and dove into his closet slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet he asked "What happened?"cheap wow power leveling --------------------------------buy eq2 plat, eq2 gold, everquest platinum, rs gold, silkroad gold,
