rough idle/vibrate during acceleration

Hello all. I just purchased a 1992 camaro RS 3.1L v6 about a week or two ago. It ran great up until this morning. When coming to a stop the idles are real rough, and when accelerating the whole car vibrates pretty badly. Its not accelerating as fast as it use to, especially from a stop. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: rough idle/vibrate during acceleration

Could be a variety of problems causing this. Have you scanned the computer for codes? Without that your playing a guessing game and throwing parts at it can get expensive.

O`Reillys or Advance auto will scan your computer for free if you dont have your own scanner.

Re: rough idle/vibrate during acceleration

Theres no check engine light on, but I have an advance auto near by. Should I run over there to get it scanned?

EDIT: Ran up there to scan it. They broke all my clips on the bottom of my dash to get to the plug to scan it, then told me the cars too old to scan. They told me to start with plugs/wires/distributor.

Re: rough idle/vibrate during acceleration

Problem figured out. Me and my moms boyfriend took a close look and found out that the spark plug wires were touching the manifold. It fried all of them. They are replaced and the car is 100% again. Thanks for your help though guys!

Broke all the tabs on your dash? I cant even picture how they could have done that. Glad to hear you got it fixed but sorry to hear they messed up part of your car. Unfortunatly not all auto parts stores employ the brightest of people.
