exhaust
exhaust
I'm looking for a new exhaust for my car since my current one is leaking and it sounds like crap when it's like that. So I have a quote from two local exhaust shops of $400 for a catback with magnaflow muffler dual outlet and two slightly extended tips out the back. Does this sound about right? should I keep looking? Better mufflers I should look at? Oh by the way it is a 88 Firebird 2.8L.
Thanks for all your help!

Re: exhaust
I have a complete exhaust system that sounds decent and is in great shape. I'll sell it for $150 plus shipping and it's a direct fit (and can do at home if you use u-bolt couplers).
Pics and soundclips if you are interested.

Re: exhaust
Anyways,
Do you want me to cut it up It will save a lot on shipping, but you will need to have a shop weld it back, or use slip-fit couplers with u-bolts.
The cat-to muffler pipe is long and will jack shipping up due to size.
It's 2.25" cat-back, when I bought the car I was told it was Dynomax and never checked, but I think it's another brand. It sounded good, so I took his word for it, and noticed when it was removed.

Re: exhaust
what would it be if kept together, if I was to get it cut I would want to have it welded which would cost quite a bit. They were wanting $40 to repair my leak at the connector to the cat.
