question about junction block????

is the junction block the weird shaped piece behind the passenger light that has like, 5 or so wires goin into it?? Looks kinda round with multiple slots on it-each slot holding an individual wire??? i tried to take the bolt out of the middle to clean the nasty green corrosion off the connections and the bolt snappd. Can these wires jus be spliced together? i mean, there is jus the one bolt that holds all 5 of the wires tgether......immediate help needed!!!!!! thanx guys

Re: question about junction block????

You can get another one at a parts house. And, yes, that's the junction block.

Re: question about junction block????

well we checked the local jyards to no prevail. Almost evryone(3rd gen f-bodys) has serious front end damage(i mean cars practically totaled).....so we headed back home and we decided to try and stick a bolt thru the connectors and tighten a nut behind them pretty good....then wrappd the setup with electrical tape....and it started up fine. we cleaned all the corrosion off as best as we could but we noticed that the corrosion is pretty diesel in ther. We dont have access to any type of solder tools, so could we get away with cutting the corrosion portion of the wire off and jus splice all the wires together? isnt it the same basic concept with all the connectors touching?? or should we just crimp connectors onto the new corrosion free section of the wires?? thanx

Re: question about junction block????

Junction blocks are between $3 and $20 on evilBay. Look in the lighting and starting charging system parts sections.
