idle

alright.. this is a dumb question but do you think that there is a possible way to get that choppy race car idle in a 3.1 v6... because that is my favorite sound in the world and i don't see why not..

^^^its to early to be laughin like this....but really man u wont ever get that true v8 loupy sound out of our v6's. BUT!...you can get close. I would recommend getting headers, high flow cat, and cat-back exhaust. Then get urself a nice cam and all. It will actually sound pretty bad @$$ at idle. One of my buddies had this all done on his camaro and it sounded sick on idle, alot of ppl mistake it for an 8! Once u got on it, it was screaming v6 but it sounded good doing it! He since got t-boned by an old lady and totally wrecked the car beyond repair...and sry i have no videos of the sound, only memories

Re: idle

in all honesty, dumping money into a v6 just to get a sound you like is lame. a small block is very cheap to do. then you would have the idle you want, with a good motor.

i im gonna get myself some headers and a new exhaust to make my car sound "better". only reason is that when i got the thing it sounded so bad *** cuz the exhaust manifold had a crack in it. i have since fixed it, but i miss the little rumble it made lol. Also, my exhaust isnt bad but it is rusted in a couple of spots, so its worth changing.

to give your car a little rumble, loosen the pipe from the exhaust manifold on the drivers side. dont do it too much; actually, dont do it much at all. cant be good for the car, but it does make the sound haha (at least on mine it did). just gotta be careful cuz when i didnt have the pipe on right the damn donut in there and the bolts came out and there were flames coming out of there... actually on second thought, i dont recommend doing this lol. If you want a louder car, add some headers and change the exhaust for starters.

Re: idle

man u V8 guys like to give us V6 guys a hard time!! lol. you ought to hear my 3.1! ill try to get a video up soon. all I have is a Crane PowerMax .282*/.426" cam, custom modded Hooker 3-into-1 full length headers and a 3" Stainless Steel exhaust, no cat, and a Flowmaster DeltaForce muffler and it sounds close to a SB chevy. No joke! i have the idle set to about 600 RPM when it is warm.
