The End Is Near!!! (er)
Re: The End Is Near!!! (er)
Nice... this is something I'm batting around. I want to go with the 3.4 rwd bottom end and 3500 topend.... I wish you had some dyno numbers... I would love to know what its putting down to the wheels... You port the 3500 plenum at all? How come you did not go with 3500 heads? Is it because of the header issues?
I've seen alot of flow numbers on the stock 3400 & 3500 heads, but no numbers on a ported set... makes me wonder what they are truely capable of. Is the 3400 and 3500 plenum portable? Sorry you just got my mind going....

Re: The End Is Near!!! (er)
Ya, I had wot tech do the lim and firstfirebird do the plenum. They were actually pretty close to each other and I only had to do minor touchups to get them matched. I've put several combinations of parts on this motor to see what does what individually. I haven't had time to mess around with the latest combo too much, but according to my software the stock 2.8 cam, unported 3100 upper & lower manifolds and 56mm throttle gave me 180hp (that's 215hp at sealevel) with 9.36 cr. Swapping in the roller cam (220/225 duration) gave me 210hp (250hp sealevel), didn't see any more peak power from the 65mm throttle but interestingly low to mid torq improved, and the 3500 plenum and unported lower gave me about 215hp (260hp sealevel). I'm guessing the ported lower gave me another 10hp and when I get 3500 heads I'll be in the 300hp range. Glad I spent the extra money on reuseable lim gaskets.
So far I don't have any reason to doubt my software because it's pretty damn close to what I was calculating based on track times.

thast awsum tho, it really is, its wicked cool to say ur v6 camaro can blow an iroc z28 outa the water lamo

Thanks, I've always loved odd engines- especially those with potential. Wait till I finish the twin turbos. The ignition is from a 3400 and I'm using a modified version of 6E on a '165 ecm to run it. Here's some links. DIS and ECM.
