No power below 3000 rpm

My 91 3.1 seems really gutless below about 3000 rpm. You really have to floor it to get it move. Hard work driving 'round town. Lousy city mpg too. Once its up and rolling its fine. Above 40 mph, it goes like a 'brick down a well'. Everything else seems ok with the engine, no fault codes. Automatic tranny is fine. Any suggestions?

Re: No power below 3000 rpm

you got an air flow problem with either the intake or exhaust.

When I made a sidepipe, just the simple 90* turn out for the tip ruined my flow, had to knock a hole in the bend to get it to rev out well again.
