I hate the way the coolant hoses coming up into the throttle body have such a big crimp in them. if you go to the parts store, their computer tells them to sell you a straight hose, and you bend (crimp) it
I didn't like that, so I went today and bought two gates hoses, number 28460. they are short 90 degreee hoses. I cut a little off each one, and just installed them... MUCH BETTER!!!

I''m wondering what the purpose of these coolant lines are... I suspect some type of temp sensor in the TB, but I don't know.
I don't think they are under a lot of pressure, and the crimp might not have hurt anything, but they at least look a lot better now

Re: anybody else have this hose problem?
they are there for cold climates to keep the TB from freezing by circulating hot coolant through that small section on the bottom of the TB.
If you live in a warmer climate, you can get rid of that setup... just connect the two ports on the fitting coming from the front of the base of the intake manifold. Your TB will stay cooler and potentially help power a little, too. You could even cap the two tubes.
I used a pipe fitting that screwed into the base manifold and braized a brass 90* elbow to it and connected the tube that comes in from the side to it. Much cleaner looking!!
