Vaccum Hoses 1987 Firebird 6 cylinder
Just recently bought 1987 Firebird got it running found a hose/tube that is cracked at the bottom causing car to have trouble starting when it is loose. It will vaccum(suck) the tube back on but it comes loose do to being cracked, car doesn't start when hose is removed. Where is a good place to buy the part I need I am not sure what to call the part searched for hoses/tubes and found nothing on any sites read on some sites where people replaced them but not where I could buy them. Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

Any auto parts store like Autozone, NAPA, Advanced Auto, etc. Just cut a little "sample" piece of the vacuum hose that you need to replace and bring it with you. Also, make sure to measure how much length that you will need because they usually cut it off of a roll. Get extra just in case, it's cheap.

You should be able to get a package of hose that's 6' long. Just make sure to tell them you're looking for windshield washer hose. It's the bigger fuel injection hose (for the PCV valve and between the charcoal canister's purge valve and the tank line) that they usually have to cut off of the roll. BTW, if one hose is bad, better do them all, as the rest may not be far behind. Get 2 packages of each the big and small sizes, cutting the samples from near the charcoal canister.
As a tip, make sure the engine compartment is warm when you go to pull the hoses as this minimizes breaking the hard lines (which become brittle as heck when cold).
