5 Speed Redline?

So I have a 1987 Camaro with a 2.8l and 5-speed transmission. My car has the stupid massive gas gauge and three idiot lights. So my question would be…*How far can I take each gear, in mph or km. Thanks for everthing

Re: 5 Speed Redline?

You could get a tach. :P
As for what speeds.. *shrug* someone else will have to answer or you could check your manual if you have one.
[Edit]Nevermind, the manual has speeds for "best compromise between performance and fuel economy", not all out rod throwing crazy[/edit]

In the event that you do get a tach; in another thread Gumby seems to say that it was 6500RPM (said that his rear mounted tach matched the stock v6 one)

Ever ridden a dirt bike or other off road thingy?

You should know when to shift then, you'll feel the power peak then start to drop off.

You'll run out of poop before ya over rev.

I know that. However, for a 23 year old engine, I was looking for some info.
